    HSU VTF-2 Subwoofer
    Hi All,

I own this sub and I noticed that when you wiggle the input cable(y connector) I get a loud thump(followed by an annoying hum) out of it, I have tried swapping cables, receivers etc.
nothing works to stop this. Is this normal for a high powered sub to do this?
I have to shut the thing down and re-start it again to stop the hum.

    Thanks.

    Not good
This is not a good sign. I think the loud thump comes from improperly shutting down a subwoofer, but it should not cause the buzzing. It seems that the RCA connector is causing a short-circuit inside the unit but this is not enough to make it shut down entirely. I would recommend giving HSU a call. They stand behind their products and have very good tech support.

Cause was a loose ground wire in the RCA connection.
