How can i make these speakers portable?

I have like a couple small speakers attached to a simple volume

controller that came off one of those video chairs.

It plugs into a wall, and i was wondering if i could cut

it and attach it to a battery some how. the thing says the transformer outputs 9v of AC,

and i thought of using a 9v battery, but they are DC.

Is there any way i could make this portable?
