Does a full-range outdoor speaker exist?

I've scoured the internet, but cannot find this animal. I need/want a full-range speaker for my boat dock. The dock has a ceiling/roof so only rain blowing in and the moisture underneath are harmful. I'll remove them in the winter.

I have some older Polk (RT15i) monitors mounted, but there is little to no bass.

If I cannot find one, what driver materials will last longer than others? And, can i apply deck stain over the outside of a home speaker to prolong their life?

Budget is <$350 for the pair...used is fine.

Sorry Tar... my searches are not coming up with what you are looking for but there were some older threads on this board or another where someone build their own out of PVC piping along with a sub.

Nice....love those woofers, but not sure their bark goes low enough.

    Funny story...

I used to have neighbors behind me with 2 little barking yappers that they left outside 24-7. When I called the Animal Control on them all they did was make them get a dog house. It was OK that they barked all night long.

I taped them barking and put a speaker in my back window and blasted it for a while. The cops came and cited ME for disturbing the peace.

If I had these dogs, I may have been more successful.

Makes a lot of sense, a dog barking all night is not disturbing the peace, but a tape of them is.

I built a pair of full range PVC pipes for outdoor music. I used poly cone FR speakers from Parts Express. There's a picture of them in my gallery. They sound pretty good but not to the level of the Algonquins.

I believe a true full-range floor standing outdoor speaker does not exist.

I'm now searching for a decent 10 or 12" sub to compliment the small Polks.

Actually, Wilson Audio makes one based on the Sophia but it's a bit pricey...

So, I broke into the palace
With a sponge and a rusty spanner
She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

I may have boat dock, but definitely no funds for Wilsons....

I have outdoor JBLs with decent bass on my deck, but i want the sound and looks only a floor stander can deliver....guess i'm biased toward big speakers

Would you be willing to build your own?

Interesting...they are identical to my Athena AS-06 speakers. Brackets, cabinet, mounting, connectors are exactly the same.

If these are indeed the same speaker I purchased as Athena, they rock very well and do have decent bass for little outdoor speakers.
