Question crossover setting-thru receiver or on sub itself?

I have a new toy in my basement! My receiver is a pionner elite vsx-55txi w/ a crossover setting from 50-150. My paradigm pw 2200 also has a crossover setting of 50-150. My question is this...which one do I use or do I use both? My system sounds GREAT but I want the best possible sound out of it.

Choose the crossover setting on your receiver. Most people set all their speakers to small with a crossover setting around 80hz. This means your receiver will direct 80hz on up to your mains center and surrounds and 80hz on down to your sub. On your sub you will turn the crossover dial all the way up to 150hz this way the crossover setting won't interfere with your receiver. This does not mean that your sub will be doing up to 150hz just that with it set a 150hz it will be out of the way.
