Bose 901 III

This year I restored a pair of Bose 901 series III. I always wanted a pair but I could never afford them new. I have been very happy with them I'm driving them with a Marantz 2226b receiver. They play fairly loud with the 26 watt amp. I ordered a Sherwood 4109 receiver with 105 watts per channel. Its a cheap receiver I didn't want to spend to much. I used to have Mellow Monster horn loaded speakers that my Dad & brother & I built years ago. I just wanted a project to do, I bought the equalizer used off of Kijiji for the 901's. I like the fact no matter where I'm in the room I can always hear both speakers.

Welcome and congrats on your project. I used to sell Bose 901's when I worked in an audio shop. They certainly have their charms. I like them with large scale orchestral music and some live albums. Enjoy them and more power certainly will not hurt.

That Marantz will sound better than the cheap Sherwood. You get what you pay for. But nice score on the 901's.
