Altec Lansing ADA885 + SB Live! 5.1 - Two questions
I currently have a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 soundcard (I know it's old...), and Altec Lansing's ADA885 (http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...5/en/setup.htm) connected to them as 4.1. I'm using my system for music, games and watching DVDs, so most of the time I'm in 'dolby digital' mode in the speakers.
My questions are:
1. How should I connect the subwoofer to the soundcard? Should I only use the digital S/PDIF connection or should I also connect the analog ones? In any way, what do I need to configure in my software in order to get the most out of my setup?
2. How do I extand my rear speakers cables? I need the cables to go around the room and they're not long enough. The plug is a 3.5mm plug, but I'm not sure if I should use stereo or mono 3.5mm cables.
