Hmmm. That might be different as everyone is so spread out and everyone likes different things. I was thinking about a AudioFest....we could find a place that is centralized and take our gear there, just like a Show and display what we have and such. Now that would take some serious masterminding and effort on all those involved, plus not everyone would want to disassemble their gear and transport it, but I wish that we could somehow listen to everyones setup...maybe we just rent out a huge van/bus and drive all over and listen to everyones stuff? Well, we might need a plane to get to some places...

That could work, although it seems like our community here is depleting at a steady rate and I don't know how many people are really that tight with one another, especially to meet them face-to-face, although I must say that would be interesting because it's one thing to sort of see everyones personality online, but these are just words....seeing each other really puts things into a whole new perspective on things. Like, "oh wow, I never pictured you being so fat". Etc etc.

Don't think of it as depleting, think of it as culling.

The board shouldn't be ran by just one person, I'm more in favor of a board board, maybe consisting of 5 members who will discuss decisions and rule with the majority vote.

How about members get to buy from advertisers at factory direct prices.

We need a better signup system too so we don't get so much spam.

rule by commitee is painfully slow in the real world, its going to be even moreso in an online environment. i think 5 is too big, 3 should be the maximum, and they should be three people who rarely share the same opinion - "if two people are in agreement, you can be sure that one of them is unecessary".

As long as it's not a single person ruling his will on the board. We all get into a battle occasionally and I hate to see the power to delete, ban, or rebuke, be given to just one person.

What if a board was put together made up of 11 people who are frequent visitors, want to see AR thrive, have a solid reputation, a decent post count, have been around for at least 3-6 months, and are willing to take the position for a designated amount of time, say...1 year for starters. T

This way in order to ban someone it must be approved by a majority of the votes from the board.

You "guess" you forgot? How does that happen? One would think that is a rather important detail to clue people in on, but you were probably like "Screw you guys, peace outti".

Now that you are lurking....who is the new contact person for this site or are we just a looney bin running wild?

You mean like the ability to delete double posts?

When I said "Screw you guys" I meant you were talking to the execs.

I never understood why people feel that getting screwed is a bad thing.

Super Mod, its possible but not likely. my point is that the site has not been completely left to flounder.
