    Ibm 3d Tv

International Business Machines, a worldwide leader in technology innovation, has announced a new and affordable 3D video system that works with normal DLP (Digital Light Processing) televisions. Before now, 3D video systems would set you back at least $1,800 while the price of IBM’s new system is expected to be only $1000 – if only a grand sounds cheap to you.

Seems like I tried a pair of LCD shutter glasses at my local Costco store about 6 years ago. Only one eye was allowed to see the screen at a time. Presumably alternating with each scan of the picture.

3D effect was good, flicker was pretty bad. They were part of a video game and were lots less than $1,000. Maybe a better computer with a faster display would have helped the flicker. If you moved your head while watching, the effect was unsettling, seasickness?
