    Head Shell Leads

I would like to make some but have not been able to pin down a proper gauge of wire to use. Any ideas?

You could try tone arm wire. I'd guess about 26 or 28 gage. Since this will not add to the bearing friction as the tonearm moves, flexibility is not nearly as important as it is for rewiring a tone arm so a slightly heavier gage will not matter. You will need a very small pencil iron so that you don't burn the wire up as you solder, tools for manipulating and holding very small objects, and a very steady hand. It may be easier if you have someone to help you. One of you can hold the parts while the other does the soldering. Good luck.
