    Brakes -- meh
A.R.E. Weapons -- a bit wild, but fun
Lots of Keith Jarrett at work.
The new-ish JMJ -- lots of old stuff reworked. Not necessarily a bad thing, based on the strength of the old material.
Chris Rea -- why don't people like him? I digs.Do you have a cassette player in your car? There's a doodad that will convert to one of those, too.

Chris Rea has an awesome voice.
In fact, years ago I bought his CD blindly based on one song I heard in the store.
Took it home & I was disappointed. Couldn't really put my finger on it.
Anyway, I've since sold the CD used.

Maybe he'd sound better, now. These ears have aged.

some mellow jazzcommon: be (produced by kanye west and in my estimation far better than his own release this year).
Couldn't agree with you more. Common's BE is a real grower.

That sounds like a mess of a random play. Have you met my buddy New Trick Rick? He's a random kinda guy. Me? One at a time, maybe for days. I'm an oldtimer. Retro cool.

NP: Square Hips by the Javelins from No Plants, Just Animals - this CD is only 25 minutes, and not a bad 25 minutes at all, although the vocals are just a little soft like Pinback, but they sent another one with it as a freebie by The Recital called Colour Up. Haven't listened to that one yet.

Yeah, Like Water for Chocolate is one I really like. Only heard bits and pieces of Ressurection. I've heard mixed opinions on Be, with some folks thinking its too commercial or something...personally I love it...great laid back vibe that I can listen to all day, shares as much with old r&b as it does rap in its overall sound and mood. You a thumbs up or down on it?

Man, if they got rid of all those long intros this album would be killer. Some of the recent 13&God album reminds me of GZA/Wu-Tang, only with The Notwist backing the beats.

You know what, I used to be all about "Underground Hip Hop" kinda snob. But reality is that there are as much crap by indie artists as BET headliners. If it's good then it's good, still can't understand why I didn't see this years ago.

Be to me is a thumbs down. I enjoy his shows everytime I go, but what happened to the track with the one and only Gifted Unlimited Rhymin Universal. Maybe Kanye is like Hi-Tek, just keep producing and stay away from the mike.

Here's more albums that never gets old.

    Zion I-Mind over Matter
People Under the Stairs-Q in the form of A
    Tribe called Quest-People's Instinctive Travels.........

I just love albums when artists are so F*#king hungry to get in da game. Common can still spit, no doubt.
