To Bastie, thanks man. I've learned alot here, but there are other simple technical issues that I dont understand. I thought I knew alot about audio, but obviously not. This whole 8260 w/bass mgmt is very weird. Also, I thought I posted 800, but now it shows I've only posted 737. Maybe I need to call my doc.....TA HELL NO!!!!

It sounds like Grant Green, but he's albums arent impressing me as much as they use too. Kenny's starting to sound more like my thing.

I just realized what bastie meant on his previous post...:mad2: For that, I think I'll sleep more than 4 hours for first time in weeks. 5 more weeks and I should graduate.
Right now,

I highly recommend it for anyone who can tolerate experimental Jazz. I think Musicoverall will enjoy this one.
I dont know what it is about Jazz, but I just can't get enough of it. For me, this is the greatest thing to come out of America, except for Mingus. Oh well.

Yeah, you could be right. I can't speak for anyone else but I'm having a hella busy week; it's the first time I've been able to do more than 5 minutes of lurking...
NS: Anne-Sophie Mutter~Beethoven: Spring & Kreutzer Sonatas both refined and restrained in performance, this is a highly detailed performance. Solid classical SACD rec.

-JRA
You do need to pick up alot of jazz. There are a ton of great jazz and classical realeases that are top-notch and worth the investment. Probably 70% of my posts are SACD. I'll try to be specific about quality product. Have fun with your new toy...
-
Tord Gustavsen Trio - The Ground
very very wonderfully good.

My new CDP just wokeup half of my music collection.

a cup of coffee...a cigarette...and some Brian Eno...it's still early...

My favorite of his Ambient series, alnog with the one he did in collaboration with Harold Baud. I even have the third speakers set up in the rear like he suggests in the albums liner notes...interesting effect and very nice as long as you are inbetween the speakers...when I wander around the house and get outside the triangle, it can be odd sounding indeed for a lot of music...although for this album, it doesn't matter.
Here's a link to the speaker trick for anyone interested...

Some Hubert Laws
made the morning paper tolerable. "In the beginning" . I don't know why but I love the CTI
jazz stuff from the late 70's.
-
Nina Simone - The Essential Collection.
-
Bought some records this morning.
Hank Mobley Sextet - Hank
Leon Thomas - Gold Sunrise on Magic Mountain.
Freddie Hubbard - Open Sesame
Grant Green - Green Street HQ-180
John Coltrane – Lush Life (giving him another try)
I think I found another Blue Note repress I like. They are labled Blue Note Records 304 Park Ave. At all costs stay away from United Artist, Capital(80s), Manhattan (the worst), EMI, and French reissues. You can’t go wrong with Liberty, 90’s Japanese pressings, Connoissuer, or mid 90’s Capital reissues.
-JRA

Add:
I just got done listening to Coltrane's Lush Life.
I must say that was the most enjoyable album I've heard in a long time. To me that's saying alot, since I never cared for Coltrane. I can't wait to spinning it again next week. Wow!!!
-JRA

NS Guru's Jazzmatazz - Streetsoul on CD
Gifted Unlimited Rhyming Universal, this album's got it all.

Django Reinhardt - Classics and Rarities
actually not really my style, but i thought i'd give it a try, he plays the guitar, nothing special about that, only one thing is that he lost 2 fingers on one hand, and still plays better than alot of other people i've heard, all the tracks were made between 1937 and 1952, quality isn't too good, but still, reasonable...
-
Have been making time for music.
I've played
DJ Zeph - Sunset Scavenger
RadioHead - Kid A.
I'm not spinning anything special today and I love it.

Dexy's Midnight Runners were horribly maligned as one-hit wonders, but this whole album is an excellent fusion of celtic folk music and distinctive British style soul music. Great Hammond organ and horns throughout. You could take the big hit off this album and there'd still be plenty of resason to listen. Searching for the Young Soul Rebels is a great album by them as well.
-
Havent played much at all today. I've spun The Photographer by Phillip Glass.
MMW, It's a Jungle in Here

Just puts a smile on my face.
