Swishbaby going to see Neko Case in April.

This is one of my 'must see before I die' performers, and she's finally playing someone within a reasonable proximity and on a Friday night to boot. Her show is on April 10th at the Keswisk Theater in Glenside, PA, a little town north of Philly, and not a bad venue actually. Our tickets are in the first section, stage left, so they're quite good, and only about $35 a piece after the goofy 'convenience' charges and such.

I was quite bummed that I couldn't make the Andrew Bird show in Philly this past Sunday, but that's never a good night for a show, especially with a nearly 2 hour drive afterward. Oh well, maybe another day?

    Neko

One of the best voices in the biz. Absolutely diggin' Neko. Too bad no Dallas dates on that list, but I suppose she'll get here eventually. She's been here before.

Abso, Swishdude. I agree with noob...shame no dates in my area. Might make for a good trip to Chi-Town though. Ya don't hear enough reverb these days...
So, I broke into the palace

I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

And I'm driving about 90 minutes to her show.

She's calling this her 'Spring 2009' tour, and I would bet she'll be playing a lot more venues. She's not the type of artist who would be booked too far in advance, and I'm betting more dates will be announced in the months ahead.

Austin's three hours, but it's sometimes worth the trip. There's action in Austin that never ventures up this way.

I was introduced to Neko when I discovered The New Pornographers. I've checked out her solo work but am still more enchanted with The New Pornographers.

Looks like you will be down in my neck of the woods again. Enjoy the show and if you like a good Martini, check out Plush across the street and around the corner to the left. If it's a beer night, there is a tiny micro right across the street from the theater.

NIce, she's playing in Mini-apples. All this excitement is pushing me to get a ticket now...I'd been debating the money output 'cause I've already got tix for Andrew Bird, Animal Collective, Larkin Grimm, and Antony & the Johnsons in the upcoming month or 2. Oh well, that's what its for - music, food, and beer.

...in June for a short vacation and hope to catch a show or two while there. Otherwise, I'll just be bar-hopping to hear the local artists like Spoon and Lucinda Williams.

    Thanks.

It's tiny and they do serve food. It is almost directly across from the doors.

Walked in one night before a show but it was a bit crowded so we went to Plush.

Plush has some good beers on tap and a decent menu also.

I was on the gg brewers site and clicked on the link for 'our beers' and it says 'coming soon'. Then I visited the Plush Lounge site and it has a bunch of links near the top, but none of them are activated, so I can't get much info.

I will try to get a reservation there though since the Neko show is a Friday night, and I know everything will be jammed.

I'd definitely catch a Neko show if I had a chance. And Swishy- I'm crossing off one on MY "must-see" list on 3/9- Pogues in ATL.

Neko came to a place within 2 miles of my house on a weeknight maybe a year or so ago. I was traveling and couldn't make it. For Neko fans who don't have access to a live show, you might want to check for her Austin City Limits performance on DVD.
