This is interesting, because it is in the realm of percussion that I really notice the difference between sacd and rbcd. There is a certain roundness (sorry, don't know how to describe it) and body to the drums that isn't present in rbcd. This is easy to hear on hybrid discs that have both layers, such as John Mayer's Heavier Things, a recording that is certainly no slouch in rbcd format.
