Hyfi, I'm just heading out with the kids. I'll watch it when I get back. The SMV you sent me is wonderfully recorded and I would sayn opposite of my issue in this post.

    I'll let you know...

OK Pops, maybe you will like his acoustic tone. If you don't already have this disk, you need to get it.

    Here is a good clip

gotta put my word in for WR

i have just about all of weather report's audio albums, and just the live dvd mentioned here. remember that this band was more or less pioneered in miles band doing '*****es brew'. there are some quintessential things they have done. and some gems scattered through them as well. check out the 'sportin life' disc (the cut-confians-is hardly typical of WR). and the final one by WR-this is this is endearing if not well reviewed in allmusic.com.

rtf is not to bed missed of course but quite different than wr. i still have to wade through their output but i do have some.

stanley is shown to great effect on his album 'journey to love' (silly putty on this disc is a monumental bass demo cut) and also 'east river drive' and SMV too. victor wooten is also awesome and marcus is quite versatile in abilities. bringing miles out of seclusion was a pretty good feat. check out TUTU!

STT-using Dolby PL IIx makes a lot of sense with stereo material. i have been using Dynaquad (the same matrix) since the 70s with very subtle rear channel levels for ambience extraction on all my sources. right now i am listenin to the dvd-war's greatest hits and it sounds great and the music is pretty close to the way the original members did the tunes. highly recommended even if the clarity of the video isnt top notch, the music is.
    ...regards...tr
