    Most Memorable Song Titles

These titles were taken from more popular songs on the chart from Blues to Country to Rock (images are from album cover).

I am sure there are many more catchy songs titles out there, but my music history knowledge is limited. So please free to add to the list.

    Not in any particular order:

The Song Remain The Same: Led Zepplin

Mona Lisa Lost her Smile: David Allan Coe

Step In The Name Of Love: R Kelly

The Forecast Call For Pain: Robert Cray

Don't Worry, Be Happy: Bobby McFerrin

    Highway To Hell: AC/DC

    Running On Empty: Jackson Browne

Its Five O'Clock Somehwere: Alan Jackson

California Dreaming: The Mamas & The Papas

    London Calling: The Clash

I am on a Jackson Browne jag today.....
You won't find this on any LP but I had a bootleg tape of his and he did a song titled
" You Don't Want Me-You just Want Meat" a very poignant song about a one-night stand.....

And while I am on JB there are two songs; "Rosie" and "Redneck Friend" which are great titles if you understand what the song is about. Here is a hint from each-

    From "Rosie"

"But Rosie you're all right - you wear my ring
When you hold me tight - Rosie that's my thing
When you turn out the light, I've got to hand it to me
Looks like it's me and you again tonight, Rosie"

    From "My Redneck Friend"

"Honey you shake and I'll rattle and we'll roll on down the line
We're going to forget all about the battle-It's gonna feel so fine
'Cause he's the missing link, the kitchen sink--
Eleven on a scale of ten
Honey let me introduce you to my redneck friend"

Thanks Thekid, poppachubby, 02audionoob and Rae for interesting song titles and photos. After scanning so many titles for subject of this thread, Blues, Rap and Country seem to have more interesting song titles than other geners. And having a big hit does help in that department.

And speak of Blues, here is another one...

The Thrill is Gone: BB King

Nope. As a staunch Mayfield fan, I would like to think a song like "We People Who Are Darker Than Blue" or "Stone Junky" could be most memorable. The reality is, if anyone even remembers a Mayfield tune, it would be either Superfly or Pusherman.

Hey, someone had to turn this happy thread into a debate...

    "Solid life of crime,
a man of odd circumstance, a victim of ghetto demands.
Thiefin' money for style, and I'll let you trip for a while.
    Insecure from the past,
how long, can a good thing last?"

    - taken from Pusherman

Curtis was the 50 Cent of his time. Better than 50 Cent because it was so inconceivable back then...

I didn't say I like him. Just like the song title and the video for that song wasn't too bad either

Curtis Mayfield is, I think, one of the great under-appreciated composers of modern times. Like Bernard Herman, his name is known to a few--a happy few--who know his true brilliance. I owned Superfly once, but not now....In the meantime, I found this gem, and think it is not a bad substitute....

I vote for Curtis everytime. Like others, Miles Davis, James Brown, he reinvented himself as times changed. Re-inented, not to please fashion, but to answer the voices in his head. From the "minstrel" musings of "Gypsy Woman" and "I'm the one who loves you.". To the civil rights anthems of "We're a Winner" and "Movin' on Up" and the out and out classic "People get Ready". The angrier missives of "Choice of Colors" and "If there's a hell below, we're all gonna go". And his urban hell descriptions in "Superfly". Underated, perhaps, he's one of a hanfull of artists in the RnR Hall of Fame TWICE, once for the Impressions and Once for himself. But listening to his HOF induction and what Springsteen and other's said of him... some know of his influence. However you can't mention his greatness without acknowledgin his long time collaborator and producer/arranger Johnny Pate. Together, they were genius.

    Worf
