    [QUOTE=nightflier]SB, Hate songs? Queen?

What hate songs? It's all good. I think the "Queen" not only is, but was FA!
  • 03-04-2009, 02:52 PM
Just making conversation, SB. Queen is definitely a great band. Not too crazy about the Paul Rogers transition, but their older stuff, even up to Radio Gaga, is quite good. I used to have all their old records, Night at The Opera, Queen, News of the World, but I may have lost them because they are not where they should be. That would be a major loss.

So no one guessed at the Bow Wow Wow lyrics, not even Sticks?

Let's see what else I can dig up. I got something here. Now this one belongs in the history books, I think:

To A Special Kind Of Person
The Kind Of Person That's Hiding
    Under Rocks And In Closets
    Wherever You Go
    Hiding
    Behind A Guise Of Respectability
    The Cowardly Journalist
    Who Hides Behind His Typewriter
Exploiting People Who Can't Fight Back
    The Assassin
    Who Strikes People By Surprise
    The Sickie Sadist
Who Hides Behind His Police Badge
    To Commit Crimes Of Violence
    Against Other People
    Whatever Role They Are Playing
    These Creeps
    Are Always The Same
    Because
    A Pig Is A Pig
    And That's That
    (Ichi Ni San Shi)
Your Stinkin' Lies Are So Lame
Your Stupid Ideas Are The Same
    A Pig Is A Pig
    And That's That
    You Know Who You Are
Your Phoney Pose Is So Old
You're Just A Product From The Mold
    A Pig Is A Pig
    And That's That
    You Know Who You Are
I Can Predict What You'll Do
'cause Everyone Else Is Like You
    A Pig Is A Pig
    And That's That
    Stupid Mean And Ugly
Down In The Dirt Where You Go
Lower Than You You Can't Go
    A Pig Is A Pig
    And That's That
    Big Brother's Watching You
You Can Dress Up In Disguises
You Can Try To Mesmerize 'em
    You Can Surround
    Yourself With Friends
Who Tell You What You Want To Hear
But In The End No Matter What You Do
    You Will Come Shining Through

I'm not sure if I'm following you?

Take this pink ribbon off my eyes
    I'm exposed
    And it's no big surprise
    Don't you think I know
    Exactly where I stand
    This world is forcing me
    To hold your hand
'Cause I'm just a girl, little 'ol me
Don't let me out of your sight
I'm just a girl, all pretty and petite
So don't let me have any rights

Oh...I've had it up to here!
The moment that I step outside
    So many reasons
For me to run and hide
I can't do the little things I hold so dear
'Cause it's all those little things
    That I fear

'Cause I'm just a girl I'd rather not be
'Cause they won't let me drive
Late at night I'm just a girl,
Guess I'm some kind of freak
'Cause they all sit and stare
    With their eyes

    I'm just a girl,
Take a good look at me
    Just your typical prototype

Oh...I've had it up to here!
    Oh...am I making myself clear?
    I'm just a girl
I'm just a girl in the world...
That's all that you'll let me be!
I'm just a girl, living in captivity
    Your rule of thumb
    Makes me worry some

    I'm just a girl, what's my destiny?
What I've succumbed to Is making me numb
I'm just a girl, my apologies
What I've become is so burdensome
I'm just a girl, lucky me
    Twiddle-dum there's no comparison

    Oh...I've had it up to!
    Oh...I've had it up to!!
Oh...I've had it up to here

    You've got me captured
    I'm under your spell
    I guess I'll never learn
    I have your picture
    Yes I know it well
    Another page is turned

    Are you for real?
    It's so hard to tell
    From just a magazine
Yeah, you just smile and the picture sells
Look what that does to me

    I'll wait
    'Til your love comes down
I'm coming straight for your heart
    No way
    You can stop me now
    As fine as you are

    I wrote a letter
    And told her these words
That meant a lot to me
    I never sent it
    She wouldn't have heard
    Her eyes don't follow me

    And while she watches
    I can never be free
    Such good photography

    I'll wait
    'Til your love comes down
I'm coming straight for your heart
    No way
    You can stop me now
    As fine as you are

    You can't imagine
    What your image means
    The pages come alive
    Your magic free
    To everyone who reads
    Heartbreakin' motor drive

    Are you for real?
    It's so hard to tell
    From just a magazine
Yeah, you just smile and the picture sells
Look what that does to me

    I'll wait
    'Til your love comes down
I'm coming straight for your heart
    No way
    You can stop me now
    As fine as you are

    I'll wait
    'Til your love comes down
I'm coming straight for your heart
    No way
    You can stop me now
    As fine as you are

    I'll wait

Sort of wonder why No one said a word
Don't you like it on the sly?
Don't you like it till it hurts?
Have I been on your mind? What's a voice without a song?
Something in your head You've been fighting all along...

I don't want to say it, The news is not so good
We'll never get away, And even if we could
We'd just play the tambourine Around an open flame
Oversleep and burn To be back in the game

'Cause summer never comes Nowhere near high noon
And winter never comes Nor the harvest moon

    Raw sugar
I don't want to die living in a high rise grave
    My baby come home
(same black day, high rise grave)

No I'm not complaining, Yes it could be worse
Ferment on the wish bone, Match the lips to the purse
Neighborhood's a runway, Fry the ass and thighs
Dirty diamond dealers, pushed behind the ire's

And summer never comes Nowhere near high noon
And winter never comes Nor the harvest moon

    Raw sugar
I don't want to die living in a high rise grave
    My baby come home
(same black day, high rise grave)

Still I wear the red dress, Paint my toes and twirl
Take it back to old times, when I was still a girl
'Cause now I'm all baboon boys, Cootchie Cootchie Coo
Sort of wonder why I missed a kiss for you

'Cause summer never comes (same black day, high rise grave)
Winter never comes (same black day, high rise grave)

    No Doubt, VH, Metric.

BTW, SB, the reason I posted that tune from the Plasmatics, is because it's the song Wendy wrote after she & Rod were beaten senseless by the cops for "indecent exposure" at a concert in Milwaukee. Mind you, Rod's only "indecent exposure" was wearing a dress on stage, although Wendy did go a bit farther. Nowadays there would be a busload of lawyers ready to pro-bono the case, but back then things were very different and the cops were pretty much untouchable. The cops even wrote in their report that they didn't lay a hand on her and blamed the "unruly crowd," but after several photos appeared showing multiple officers beating Wendy with nightsticks as she was handcuffed and immobile on the ground, they recanted that statement. The cops were never charged, and the Plasmatics nearly went bankrupt from their legal bills.

For many people in the punk movement, and even in the women's lib movement, this was a seminal event. There's a lot of debate about Wendy's performances and whether she should have done things just that way, but there's no denying that she was a symbol of something greater within the Punk movement. Unfortunately she ended up taking her own life in 1998, and IMO, that was a significant loss, even if I didn't really care much for the music or the shows.

    Nevermore.............UK
    Nevermore
    The sight
    Black Forest
    Cool Moonlight

    Blue shadows
    Reflect
    In windows
    In direct

    Oh to go
    Down to Soho
There bold spirits don't sink so low

    Gold Amber
    Of lights
    Beer glasses
    Misty nights

    Oh to go
    Down to Soho
Black tie night out or hobo outright

    Singles bars
    Cruising shark cars
    Soho neon glow

    When day is dawning
    You wipe the sleep
    slowly from your eyes
    And you remember
    Soho's neon disguise
    Eyes reflect in windows direct
    Soho neon glow......

    Hey Flier,
    Ever listen to these guys?

    Wake up
    (wake up)
Grab a brush and put on a little make up
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup
(hide the scars to fade away the shakeup)
Whyd you leave the keys up on the table
There you go create another fable
    You wanted to
Grab a brush and put on a little makeup
    You wanted to
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup
    You wanted to
Whyd you leave the keys up on the table
I dont think you trust in my self righteous suicide
I cry when angels deserve to die (die)
    Wake up
    (wake up)
Grab a brush and put on a little make up
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup
(hide the scars to fade away the shakeup)
Whyd you leave the keys up on the table
There you go create another fable
    You wanted to
Grab a brush and put on a little makeup
    You wanted to
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup
    You wanted to
Whyd you leave the keys up on the table
I dont think you trust in my self righteous suicide
I cry when angels deserve to die
    In my self righteous suicide
I cry when angels deserve to die
    Father father father father
Father into your hand I comend my spirit
Father into your hand why have you forsaken me in your eyes
    Forsaken me in your thoughts
    Forsaken me in your heart
    Forsaken me ohh
Trust in my self righteous suicide
I cry when angels deserve to die
    In my self righteous suicide
I cry when angels deserve to die

Beginning of this world swelled with mankind
Who built a tool to kill a fool and lead the blind
Invent a rule to keep you down & call it sin
Then stand behind the wall and watch the games begin

Separate by class but keep the middle low
Instill the order with a border just for show
Give them weapons and let them have their piece of mind
Then tip them off so they can kill what's not their kind

And watch them shake like you

If tales come true when judgement's due they'll call us all liars
And put us in their hell and set our souls on fire
Remember sin your only friend he brought you through
Hallucinate with hate and watch them shake like you...

How could I have missed these guys, they ooze controversy:

Sometimes I try to do things and it just doesn't work out the way I wanted to.
I get real frustrated and I try hard to do it and I take my time and it doesn't work out the way I wanted to.
It's like I concentrate real hard and it doesn't work out.
Everything I do and everything I try never turns out.
It's like I need time to figure these things out.
But there's always someone there going.

    Hey Mike:
You know we've been noticing you've been having a lot of problems lately.
You know, maybe you should get away and maybe you should talk about it, maybe you'll feel a lot better

    And I go:
No it's okay, you know I'll figure it out, just leave me alone I'll figure it out.
You know I'll just work by myself.

    And they go:
Well you know if you want to talk about it I'll be here you know and you'll probably feel a lot better if you talk about it.

    And I go:
No I don't want to I'm okay, I'll figure it out myself and they just keep bugging me and they just keep bugging me and it builds up inside and it builds up inside.

    So you're gonna be institutionalized
You'll come out brainwashed with bloodshot eyes
    You won't have any say
They'll brainwash you until you see their way.

    [Chorus:]
I'm not crazy - in an institution
You're the one who's crazy - in an institution
You're driving me crazy - in an institution
They stuck me in an institution
Said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help
To protect me from the enemy -- myself.

I was in my room and I was just like staring at the wall thinking about everything
But then again I was thinking about nothing
And then my mom came in and I didn't even know she was there she called my name
And I didn't even hear it, and then she started screaming: MIKE! MIKE!
    And I go:
    What, what's the matter?
    And she goes:
    What's the matter with you?
    I go:
    There's nothing wrong mom.
    And she goes:
Don't tell me that, you're on drugs!
    And I go:
No mom I'm not on drugs I'm okay, I was just thinking you know, why don't you get me a Pepsi.
    And she goes:
    NO you're on drugs!
    I go:
Mom I'm okay, I'm just thinking.
    She goes:
No you're not thinking, you're on drugs! Normal people don't act that way!
    I go:
Mom just give me a Pepsi, please
All I want is a Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me.
    Just a Pepsi.

They give you a white shirt with long sleeves
Tied around you're back, you're treated like thieves
Drug you up because they're lazy
It's too much work to help a crazy

    [Chorus]

I was sitting in my room and my mom and my dad came in and they pulled up a chair and they sat down, they go:
Mike, we need to talk to you
    And I go:
    Okay what's the matter
    They go:
Me and your mom have been noticing lately that you've been having a lot of problems,
You've been going off for no reason and we're afraid you're gonna hurt somebody,
We're afraid you're gonna hurt yourself.
So we decided that it would be in your interest if we put you somewhere
Where you could get the help that you need.
    And I go:
Wait, what are you talking about, we decided!?
My best interest?! How can you know what's my best interest is?
How can you say what my best interest is? What are you trying to say, I'm crazy?
When I went to your schools, I went to your churches,
I went to your institutional learning facilities?! So how can you say I'm crazy?

They say they're gonna fix my brain
Alleviate my suffering and my pain
But by the time they fix my head
    Mentally I'll be dead

    [Chorus]

It doesn't matter, I'll probably get hit by a car anyway

    Drinking, gambling and women
Stealin' hearts and playin' with guns
But the laws the law and baby that's a fact
And now I'm on the run

    Chorus:
But this song ain't about none of the above
We're not punished for our sins, but "by them"
Thought I'd get myself a little passion play
But I can still hear them sayin'That crime don't pay

    My poor heart is aching
    It never did before
It seems my "indiscretion" served a "painful lesson"
And I'm still begging for more

    Chorus:
I tried to mix romance with deceit
A little pleasure now with my pain
And I felt the loss on judgement day
And I can still hear them sayin'That crime don't pay!

    Pour yourself a drink now
Make it a double and chase it with tears
But take heed my friends to this warning I give
Before you're faced with all your fears

    Chorus:
I'd rather face ten men than have a broken heart
My crimes of passion have done me in
I'm sentenced to life each and every lonely day
And I can still hear you sayin'That crime don't pay!

    Rich-n-Texas
Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves in labyrinths of coral caves
The echo of a distant tide
    Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine
And no one showed us to the land
And no one knows the wheres or whys
    But something stirs and
    Something tries
And starts to climb towards the light

    Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can
And no one calls us to the land
And no one crosses there alive
    And no one speaks
    And no one tries
And no one flies around the sun

And now this is the day you fall
    Upon my waking eyes
Inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall
Comes streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning

And no one sings me lullabies
And no one makes me close my eyes
And so I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky

I remember now what acid sounds like.
