    JC's Mystery Disc

Just arrived, and went straight from the mailbox into the cd tray. I'm just one song into it. Maybe it is because I sat up late Tuesday night and watched James Bond - View to a Kill, but I could easily see Grace Jones singing this first song - a nasty, techno-funk (is that even a word?) kinda song. I'm intrigued. I'll keep listening through the afternoon. Maybe this will get me through until it's time to take the family to a hockey game tonight (good family entertainment).

Thanks JC. It was an unexpected surprise to find it in my inbox. A more thorough review to follow.

Glad it got there. You don't have to love it, or even like it for that matter so don't fret none. When I listened I was just stunned on the basis of who it was, although I did like the music a great deal as well. The only other person to comment to so far was Nobody and he knew who it was after about 15 seconds, if that long. I suspect most others will be able to figure it out quickly as well although I wouldn't have been able to in a million years.

    Have a great weekend.

I recognized the voice, but hadn't heard the record. Didn't even know they had put something out. I liked it very much as well. It was certainly as unexpected treat to my ears.

Just started listening to this one myself. Absentmindedly I just stuck it in the computer while bouncing around online and liked what I was hearing, but it was also quickly identified and displayed in the player window so the mystery was shortlived, although I likely would have figured it out (eventually) since I'm a fan of both. But you never know, sometimes I can be pretty dense

Anyway Jimbo, we talked about this before. Didn't you pay attention?

Well I actually did contemplate that tactic but in the end I decided to send out a real copy of the disc and trusted everyone to act like grownups and not peek! Admit it, when you were a wee lad you snooped around your parent's house to try to find your Christmas presents, didn't you?

If someone wanted to sneak a peek they could have easily burned a copy without the last track of silence. I toyed with inserting extra silence at the end of a track (nobody's copy) but the database still found the correct probable match and I though that to do more could perhaps fool around too much with the flow. If someone didn't like it at all I wanted it to be because of the music, not my tinkering.

I'm a very trusting soul Davey. I see that it was misplaced in your case (big time smilies for all).

Well, if they left 'em unwrapped in the living room, would it really be my fault for sneakin' a peek?

Ho ho ho, just kidding around. I honestly hadn't thought about it when I stuck it in and so it caught me by surprise when I saw the album displayed. Kind of like rubbernecking at an accident, I guess. Once it was there, I had to look
