    Have you tried this yet?

    1) Go to www.google.com.
    2) Type in weapons of mass destruction but don't hit return.
    3) Hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button, not the "google search" button
    4) Read the error message carefully.

So, is someone getting fired? Or is this something that Google did purposely in order to create a buzz and increase the hits on thier site?

The person who sent me these instructions thinks that some programmer put this up and will get fired for it. I say that there's no way that Google could not know about this (especially if an email about it is circulating) and they started it themselves to create traffic.

    It's pretty funny either way.

I'm thinking they're not the most serious folk on the internet: link.

Actually, the weapons of mass destruction one is pretty old, I don't think anyone's getting fired for it. People like "easter eggs".

There's another one, but I forget what it is.

    Try this link

    www.coxar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk

Then do the google search as normal and see what selection is already purple.
