Check out the bands at San Francisco's Noise Pop 2004!

A riot of alternative rock at this year's Noise Pop

Joel Selvin, Chronicle Senior Pop Music Critic Tuesday, February 24, 2004

More than 100 bands will join Noise Pop 2004, a sprawling festival of alternative rock that takes place at various San Francisco spots starting tonight through the end of the week.

Highlights include Bay Area debuts of Montreal's the Stills, Neko Case and Friends, 50 Foot Wave with Kirstin Hersh, the reunion of the American Music Club and appearances by such buzz bands as All Night Radio, featuring former members of Beachwood Sparks, or the Unicorns, also from Canada.

After 12 years of Noise Pop, the festival's alumni comprise a Who's Who of alt-rock: White Stripes, Bright Eyes, Jimmy Eat World, the Donnas, Death Cab For Cutie, the Shins, Sleater Kinney, Modest Mouse, Yo La Tengo.

Where's One Man Army on this list? Did they break up? There's just no justice in this music biz.
