Connect Ipod to receiver without docking station?

My friend who owns a coffee house has decided that her employees can no longer be trusted to put in CD's that aren't dark, depressing, goth gurglings or X-Rated rap espousings. She wants to go strictly ipod to her dedicated 2 channel amp. How best to do this?

    1. Direct line?
    2. Powered Dock?
    3. Other hook up?

Any help would be appreciated. If powered docking station is the best answer, what's the best one without speakers in about the $100.00 range?

    Thanks.

Don't exactly know what you mean by "best" - best value, best reliability, best audio quality (though that is really the iPod's concern). Here's one I have been looking at - http://tinyurl.com/cld39v

Save your money and just use a jack to RCA cable.

The iPod needs power in this all-day application. Using the dock connector instead of the headphone also gives you access to the line-out from the iPod. If you use headphone, you have to be sure to set the iPod's volume correctly.

    Well...

I seached online, saw an Onkyo model I would've gotten for me, but in the end we went to the Apple store, bought one of their universal docking stations and went on from there. Problem solved and everyone's happy.
