    nother way to go and I'm not sure on pricing would be a powered mixer. This would have the amp built in and you just hook up the speakers. I haven't looked at these in years so not sure if any have built in recording, I doubt it since the mediums for recording seem to change often these day

    For what it's worth, there's a good chance you won't need two speakers in the first place. Instead of two mediocre speakers, do yourself a favour and get one good one.

    A Beta 58, Mackie ProFX8, Yorkville NX55P, Hercules crank stand, a 50' cable, a 10' cable, two short power cords, a 25' extension cord, and that's it if I were sending you out with gear from MY inventory. You can also get help with create a jingle.

    That's about $1000 in high-quality gear. The ProFX8 is tiny, but it has enough controls to help you reduce feedback in bad rooms and plug in your phone for walk-on music or whatever else you want to do.
