My Maggies, the poor right speaker without cover because of the frequent repairs. In the limitations of the room this was the best placement I could achieve. At the back is plenty of space for a free breathing sound. The placement left next to the unused chimneypiece and right next to the wall is fine with me. On a good recording left sounds will literrally come from out of the chimney, like the knocking on doors in The Wall, what is a tremendous experience. Putting the speakers closer to each other narrows the stage. Also the carpet in the center is reserved for the dog.
