Should social media have user limits like casinos?
I was thinking about this yesterday after I caught myself scrolling for way longer than I meant to. I had only opened the app to check one message, but then I got pulled into videos, comments, random notifications — the usual. It kind of reminded me of a tour I once took through a casino with some friends just for fun. They showed us how there were built-in limits, warnings, and little reminders telling people to take breaks or set boundaries. I realized social media doesn’t really have anything like that, even though it can be just as absorbing. So now I’m wondering: should these platforms add something similar? Like reminders to stop, time limits, or even simple “you’ve been scrolling a while” messages?
