Intel Pulls a Jacko, Pays AMD 1.29 Billion cash.

This is sad to see but I'm glad some kind of justice was done. We were neither blind nor stupid. We knew AMD had the better chip, we knew they had the superior technology and it was cheaper to boot. Yet for "some strange reason" you couldn't get a Gateway, Dell or anything with an AMD chip in it for love nor money. Why, we all knew why and we said it for years. Well the wheels of justice grind exceedingly slow, but also exceedingly small. I wonder how the paid Intel shills are going to "spin" this one in the forums and boards.

Yeah...worst part is, Intel still made a ton off of their shenannigans, enough to cover this bribe and the anti-trust fees worldwide. And to boot, they've been winning the race the last few years...grrr.

Wonder how much they paid Apple to get inside their boxes?

Intel CPU's still outperform AMD's in the gaming world. Even the new AMD Phenom II's lag behind in performance. That was not the case a few years ago. But AMD is still a better value for the money.

For a 2.5 year period Intel had nothing to match the 939 platform but still AMD couldn't sniff a contract with a major OEM, we knew why then, now the world knows. Black ops, bribery, strong arm tactics, robber baron thuggery to squelch legitimate competition and enforce a virtual monopoly with an inferior product. They should be hung.

Anyone remember when our government had anti-trust prosecutions? Be sure to thank Republicans for putting the needs of industry and profit ahead of the American consumer.

Be it health care, food safety, consumer protection, usury or profiteering you can count on a lot of speeches followed quickly by no action.
