A humble suggestion for how Spain should react to the bombings

The bombings in Spain have to be one of the worst events of the last ten years. 3/11 will now become Spain's 9/11. That being said, I have a few problems with how Spain is reacting to all this.

The Spanish people sent a terrible and dangerous message when they elected the appeasement-hound Socialist Party instead of keeping the Popular Party in power. Also, that moronic socialist Zapatero sent an even more dangerous message when he stuck by his pledge to withdraw Spain's 1,300 troops from Iraq. Both of these actions show the terrorists that their methods work and that they can steer a country's political course by committing acts of violence, thus inviting more acts of violence.

So what would I do? I would sent a "screw you" to the terrorists by sending MORE troops to Iraq. Then I would make an example of ETA and crack down on the HARD, violently if necessary.

Folks, the point of all this is that you don't back down to a bully. If he hits you, you hit him back twice as hard and make an example of him. If you keep on giving him your lunch money, he will keep coming back for more and more until you have nothing left. I hope for the sake of Spain that the terrorists have not been embolded by their appeasement to their crimes but something in me doubts that.

    I think we're seeing a good example of ..

    "kept" citizenry.

My heart goes out to the Spainards. In a way it's more shocking than 9-11 'cause of the way it was scattered throughout the country. It hit "close to home" to so many Spanish in a way we outside of NY did not experience.

I agree 100% that their response is cowardly & invites new attacks. Jeez, even after Al-*****a attacked UN centers there are some people who think that the UN is the one answer for everything, that somehow if we just let the UN do it (as if they would do anything?) these murderers would just shug & go home. I'm beginning to believe these folks just don't want any responsibility, and are willing to dump it on anyone that is willing, however incompetent.

Spain will find that every time they refuse any demands made by their large Arab population another bomb(s) will go off. Then maybe they'll learn the lesson Israel did long ago.

For us, we lose another strong ally to the forces of cowardice. They can join France & Germany, we can & will continue to fight the enemies of the rule of law without them. Until we become as kept as they.

    Pete

To the Spainards who lost loved ones, and those Spainards who understand what's happening, and have stood with us, we're sorry you were hit, and will continue to hunt down & kill those responsible, at least under our current leadership. You can take that to the bank.

It's a shame that the tragic event had such an adverse effect on the election on Spain. My understanding was that Zapatero was behind in poles and was elected purely as a reaction to the bombings. You guys are right in that it and the possible withdrawal or troops sends a extremely dangerous message to terrorist. The terrorist have now won in Spain. The have accomplished their goal there. They are now able to effect Spains decisions making process with terror. I for one hope that we never bow down to any of these animals for any reason. They need to be wiped off the face of the earth once and for all.

I thought they hit one railroad line in Madrid in three distinct location with numerous bombs on each train. That is how it looked on the maps shown.

We had NY, DC and PA country side.

Yes, they made a very bad choice, I feel. You give in once, you will be forced to give in every time or else. Not a good presidence. You cannot deal with terrorists, not these fanatical ones that have no value on life, including theirs.
