Thumbs up Finally got a Applebees

Bar and grill here in windsor canada. Now being a chicken wing man how are they. I love them when they are smothered with sauce, also I noticed they have riblets what are these all about. It being Friday I wouldn't mind stopping for platter of wings and a few cold ones.

    Applebees

I have never had a good meal from them. It's edible. Nothing special.
I've gone enough times to 4 different Applebee's and they all are mediocre at best.
Last night we ate at Bolder Creek. Supposed to be the best steak house.
Neither my wife's steak nor my prime rib were anything to write home about either. We had far better steak elsewhere. $44.00 for 2 meals with no alcoholic drinks or desert.

The overall quality of meals to eat out seems to have declined rapidely the past few years. McDonalds is getting better though. Yuch

Well maybe I'll stick to my favorite watering hole and have the hot wings there. Thanks for the review.

    Sorry for being so negative

I just hate wasting my money on 2 rate food and drinks.
Did I forget to mention how bad their strawberry daiquiris were?

    Great marketing though.

    Applebees

Applebee's just happens to be HQ'd a few miles away from me so of course our area is saturated with them. Overall it's OK as far as national chain cookie cutter restaurants go. Never had the wings so I'll refrain from comment but I can't imagine that they'd be anything special. The riblets can be a nice little diversion though. While not smoked, so they can't really be considered barbecue, they are pretty good. Every now and then they offer an all you can eat riblet special that I enjoy when my cholesterol is running low. Overall it's probably a better lunch bet than a dinner staple. Kind of similar to Chili's if you have any of those. I still prefer the hometown local establishments by a wide margin to the corporate monsters.

I guess I've flogged that particular horse to death, huh? I guess those that need it most lobby the hardest for it.

    Have a great weekend,

I'm going to have to sgree with the crowd here- Applebees has never impressed me with anythig on their menu. Bennegin's and Chilis are both MUCH better. Never had the wings or Riblets, though, so I can't comment on that part..

    Smile Applebees service

The thing that impressed me most from our visit to Applebees was the waiter. All seven of us ordered different meals and side dishes and the waiter never took his pad out to write down anything we ordered. After we all told him what we wanted two of us changed our order and it didn't even bother him in the least. When we received our orders they were all exactly what we wanted. We even talked with him a few minutes before he left our table and he still got everything right. The food was good but the waiter is what I remember the most.
