Nice photos! I try to take pictures but I'm not very good at it. There were some beautiful opportunities in front of my house a few days ago. We have cedar hedges between our house and our neighbour. It was snowing, and there were about 100 sparrows in my yard. It was beautiful. I grabbed my camera but taking pictures through the window didn't work out as well as I had hoped. They all came out a bit blurry. Here's a sample.

I have some great shots but how do you get them into the post as opposed to the little thumbnail?

You have to use a host site. I use Photobucket.com (it's free). Once the pic is uploaded there. you can move your cursor onto the pic and get an address link already between the two "[img][/img]", and copy and paste it here. After you click the "Submit Reply" button, the pic magically appears. Give it a try.
    Good luck!

I am curious about which zoo you took the pictures. When I take photo's at my local zoo I have very few unobstructed views. I also need a longer telephoto lens when I go to "The Wilds" but I will post some of my shots. I shot my pictures with a Canon 50D and a Sigma telephoto but I want the Canon L series zoom.

It was the NC Zoo in Asheboro, NC. It's a natural habitat zoo. Not one with cages with jail type bars. Some pics, like the baby ocelot, was taken through really thick glass. I used a Tamron 70-300mm VC lens. Most pics taken at the 300mm range. The Tamron is a very good lens for the price. I got it at Amazon.com. It's not the one with macro built into it. They have rebates going now too, I think.

Canon has a 1.6 crop factor, on their cameras that aren't full frame models. Nikons have a 1.5 crop factor. So, on my Nikon D7000, the 300mm is equivalent to 450mm.
Go ahead and post some pics...............

A few from this last few months here around Seattle.

All taken with Nikon D700 and 17-35 2.8 AFD or 60 2.8 Micro AF

Edit: Not sure why thin blue lines are showing up around the photos? The originals have no such lines.

I'll play along. With the exception of the squirrel and the dragonfly, all were taken at home. The squirrel was at a public park as was the dragonfly.

Finally broke down and bought a very nice lens for my camera. Quite pleased with the results.

It's the Canon 70-200 IS II 'L' lens. Most expensive piece of equipment I've ever bought before, but WOW is it awesome.
