    I think the HTR version may have main pre-outs, but that usually isn't a big deal at the price point, unless you plan on hooking up another amplifier.

    The preceding comments have not been subjected to double blind testing, and so must just be taken as casual observations and not given the weight of actual scientific data to be used to prove a case in a court of law or scientific journal.     Yamah rxv640/htr5660

    I am upgrading my old Sony with a Yamaha HTR5660 or the RXV640. It seems these two are the same. I can get the HTR 5660 about $50 cheaper. Are there any meaningful difference between the two. Any comments on the selection. I am usinf it for both HT and music in a 20' X 12' room. I am running a second set of speakers to a 20' X 10' room were I will be listening to music. the HT setup hase Energy's take 5.2 speakers with their 8" subwoofer. The second set of speakers are PSB bookshelf(con't remember the model). Any cvomments appreciated. Happy New Years
