    Whats the better speaker system?

Whats the better deal? I am not really a big fan of Bose, but the price looks nice.

Bose high end line with Di-Aural technology (Edge Audio). This 5.1 home theater system includes a center, 2 front, 2 rear speakers and a very large subwoofer. The cabinets are South American hard wood. I positioned a 12 in ruler in the picture to give an idea of scale. Included with the speakers are omni mounts so that the speakers can be mounted to any surface in any orientation. Or they can be removed and sat on a book shelf or mounted to floor stands (not included). This is a very nice system with $1600 invested.

    Cool

Bose used to make some decent speakers back in the day.
I bought a pair of 5.1 series fours in the mid eighties, back before I got into
    HT.
bUT I'd try the fluance if they have a decent return policy.
At that price point you cant go wrong. MAYBE.
Check out av123.com before you buy anything though

    Can I pick neither?

IMO you could do better than either of these systems for the same cash.

    Any of these: http://www.av123.com/products_catego...akers&brand=55

    Or these: http://www.av123.com/products_catego...eakers&brand=3

    Just to name a few.

You think they are that much better? Even the x- stuff?

Forgive me, I don't mean to hurt any feelings here, but those Fluance things look and read like the white van speakers.

GMichael is way right in that you can do much better elsewhere. I would suggest you do some more looking and listening.

I have not heard the X-series yet. However, if the Rockets that I own are any indication, you would be hard pressed to go wrong with AV123.com. Look on page 20 or 21 of the Santa's Baaaack thread in the AV123 forum, about halfway down, for some great deals or give them a call and see what they can do for you.

Other good brands include, but are not limited to, Ascend Acoustics, ACI, Axiom, and Magnepan. SVS offers some speakers though I have not heard them. Their subwoofers, however, are legendary performers.

I bought some Spica TC-50s. They sounded really sweet, however I need to know figure out what else to get to go with them. I am going to start looking for a good receiver after Christmas.

While not my first choice, it's a better choice than the first two options you had. Good job!
