If you have satellites & a sub, JVC RX-DV31SL Lists for $450 You can get it online new & sealed for $250 including shipping (Has a built in progressive scan DVD)

If you want to pay list price and buy from a local retailer, I would recommend either the Yamaha RX-V650 or the equivalent Yamaha HTR-5760. The HTR-5760 can also be purchased at a modest discount from a Yamaha Authorized Internet Retailer. Another good choice with a $499 list price is the Denon AVR-1905 which may be available at a discount from an authorized Denon Online E-Tailer.

If you are willing to consider a manufacturer reconditioned unit with the manufacturer's warranty, I would suggest the Onkyo TX-SR702 which lists for $799 but is currently available for $409 from two Onkyo authorized internet dealers. PCMall has it for $409 with free shipping and eCost has it for $409 plus shipping.
