    Lightbulb ReplayTV or Tivo

After all the research I've been doing, I think i'm more confused then ever on what to choose for a new PVR. It seems that both units have its upsides, but I thought I would ask the opinion of some fellow members and what they currently use or info they may have.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Which to choose

First, let me say I have some experience with both. I own a Replay TV, and my brother has an integrated Tivo into his Direct TV receiver.

I don't think you need to worry about picture quatlity with either, or sound. Both are accurate, and both offer the same recording quality options. I think I would base my decision on the equipment I have, and will have in the future, rather than which is better.

Do you want to use component video? Replay has component outs (no HD)
Do you want to be able to record 2 things at once. Replay can't do this
Will you get satellite any time in the near future? If so, wait and get integrated unit
Do you want multiple boxes int he house (Replay can send shows within network)

My brother wishes he had the commerical advance and ff capabilities of the replay over the Tivo, but my wife prefers the Tivo menus (a bit more cartoony).

What do you want to be able to do, and what is important to you?
