No picture with Denon AVR 4306 HDMI switching

Bear with me....as I said earlier I am VERY new to this! I read something yesterday that stated that since the AVR-4306 did the upconverting it only required one connection out to the monitor. So, assuming I purchase the AVR-4306 would I connect it as follows and would this solve the problem with the Motorola DVR cable box?

From the cable box to the receiver - Component Video Cables
Fiber Optic for Audio (I need to check the Motorola
to verify it has fiber optic outputs)

From the receiver to the Sony KDL52XBR3 TV - HDMI cable

Sony PS3 into receiver - HDMI

All other components - (DVD, VCR, etc) into receiver using either RCA, or component video/audio cables.

If this is correct do I then just use the receiver to switch between input sources? Is one connection to the monitor really all that is required? I would GREATLY appreciate any help with this!

If for any reason you have trouble with a video component not cooperating with your AV receiver (usually HDMI issues with sat\cable boxes) run the video from the satellite\cable box directly to the display. I have not heard of any problems using composite, S video, or component connections through an AV receiver from a video receiver.

AV receiver = Denon
video receiver = satellite\cable box

Forgive me for being lazy but I thought I read in an earlier post on this thread that the 4506 wouldn't do 1080p. If this is the case you won't get the best from the HD discs when played via the PS3. But the set up you described will work and would be your best option if Denon don't have a fix. Trust me when I say don't waste your time with the cable company or Motorola. I had a compatibility problem with my Moxie box (cable) and my processor and I was truly fighting windmills trying to get it fixed. Finally after almost a year the manufacturer done something to my processor to let it work. My problem was with digital audio though, not HDMI.
