1-There is an access door on each column behind the TV. It's on wheels so it just slides forward and I have access to holes I put in the 2x4's to run the cables as well as a surge protector strip for power.

2-No formal training. I was just put to good use by my father as a kid. I actually designed and built our shed when I was fourteen.
