Good deal, and I'm with you, good customer service goes a long way. So unless something strong persuades me I don't plan to buy anything more from D&M.

Lil't, as always, a post full of insults. BD-Live may be growing by leaps & bounds, but that's just a nice way of avoiding the question. How many BR player owners have actually used it? And if they have, are they continuing to use it?

NF, as AR members are starting to grow in number who have Blu-ray maybe you should start a poll asking who has used BD Live and who is interested in the feature. I personally am not but I rarely even check special features on DVD. Sometimes the deleted sceens are fun. It's interesting very few DVD's ever came out offering alternative endings. I have never watched the version of a movie where the director talks through it. Some people may be into these things though. I just want to watch the movie and move on

Nighliar, always full of opinions not supported by the facts. Now that HD-DVD has won....wait...it didn't.

According to the survey at Blu-ray.com more than 65% of the members there have used it, and enjoy the features found there.

According to my own studio's records, each and every title it has released that included BD-Live from the first to the most recent has seen 10% rise in more unique hits to their servers. I hear from my friends at other studios that mirrors their results as well. Do I have exact figures? No, but when somebody who knows those numbers tells me that BD-Live is really catching on, I tend to believe them.

So you understand(it is apparent you don't), BD-Live popularity is measured on a per title basis. Some titles will get more hits to the servers than others. According to a friend at Warner, after The Black Knight was released, it took their servers down twice from the traffic accessing BD-Live.

It is not wise to gage the public's opinion of an enhancement based on your own uneducated opinion. You don't even own a Blu-ray player, so you are sitting on the outside looking in. You are in exactly the same place you where when you made the big prediction that if a ship load of Blu-ray players went down in Davey's locker, it would increase the price of all players on the market. When you don't know a damn thing, you will say anything.

lil't, actually, my Oppo is on it's way.

Do you realize that over half your post is filled with pointless insults? Spare us the tedium of reading through your dead-horse beating and just answer the question, ok?

And while you're at it, grow up. I didn't insult you in this thread, so try and be a little more civil, already. Your tantrums certainly don't do anything for your image.

Good for you...Wait till it gets here then you have the grounds to make comments on Blu-ray and BD-Live. It is kind of tiring reading comments on a format that the person does not own, and has no experience with.

You answer questions your way, I will do it mine. Get over your God complex. Actually nightliar 99% of my post corrects you lame uneducated opinions, much like all of my posts in response to your foolishness. You do have a habit of over-emphasis, and just plain stretching the truth.

And while you're at it, grow up. I didn't insult you in this thread, so try and be a little more civil, already. Your tantrums certainly don't do anything for your image.
I am not worried about my image, and you shouldn't be either. You need to grow up, and learn to comment on what you know, and not what you think you know. You cannot call me lil't and then attempt to take the high ground on name calling. It is disengenius and grossly passive aggressive. Start with correcting yourself, then you have the grounds to correct others. Cool?

    lil't, lil't, lil't, tsk, tsk, tsk...

In your previous post over half of it was insults, and now 4/5th is insults. What does that give us to look forward to in your next post, all insults?

God complex? I think we've already established who here suffers from delusions of grandeur (hint: he calls himself an industry insider, claims to know more about movies and BR than anyone else, and goes by the moniker "Sir Terrence The Terrible" - need any more clues?). And yes, we know how you answer questions: pretty much all insults and self aggrandizing with a smidgen of industry-insider (read: unverifyable) statistical data.

Check again. My first post in this thread I didn't call you any names. Even my second response to you was without insults (and believe me, with your childish tantrums, there's just so much material that this is painfully difficult to do). I really tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, but by that time your posts were already so insulting that most people here were rolling their eyes wondering if this was going to devolve into one of our usual debates.

Fact is, you were way out of line. Had it been directed at any one else, you would have been reamed up and down for it. So for the last time, grow up. I'll stop calling you lil't when and if you do.

When you stop posting your uneducated nonsense, then there is no post to look forward to. Who taught you math a new born baby?

I work in the film and television industry, so that makes me inside the industry. When Blu-ray came to the market, I went to school on the technology. I learned everything from telecine and compression to authoring. Since I mix or re-mix soundtracks for both DVD and Blu-ray, I already had the audio side covered. I learned everything about all of the codecs based on hands on experience, lectures at AES and SMPTE, and seminar both at Dts and Dolby labs. I learned everything on the hardware, and I did it all of this so I would not be ignorant when I offered an opinion. Hence why I know more than you about BR. Sir Terrence was my original moniker, Dr. Richard Greene added the Terrible, so before you go that route, understand the history. Now let's see what you bring to the table. Stupid inaccurate comments and predictions about a technology you know nothing about. An industry you know nothing about, opinions on technology you don't own and know nothing about, and an in depth perspective that is about as deep as water in a teaspoon, or spit on a sidewalk. In other words, the table is empty. If you want to verify the information that I have cited (and you are more than welcomed to as it lowers the ignorance factor significantly), you are welcome to purchase a subscription to NDP. It ain't cheap and I am not getting this for you, but since you had to scrounge up money to get an Oppo BR player, it is probably out of the reach of your budget and perhaps your intelligence as well.

You did it in your first post by calling me lil't. So don't lie and fein innocence, nobody here is that stupid to buy this.

So now you can see people rolling their eyes through the internet. It is just this kind of stupid comment that is very frustrating for me. You are in this all by yourself, so don't attempt to take your own opinion and pretend that it is the consensus of others. A man doesn't throw rocks and hide in the crowd, only cowards do.

You didn't give me the benefit of the doubt, and I don't want or need it from you. You are a coward, a passive aggressive little punk, a whiner, and a diaper wetting baby. My posts are insulting to you because they point out just how clueless you are about so many things in regard to audio and video. In other words, you look like a unadulterated fool. What you call a tantrum is complete frustration that you continue to post one falsehood, bad information, wrong prediction, and uneducated comment after another. You talk alot of smack, and do not seem to learn much of anything.

Fact is, you were way out of line. Had it been directed at any one else, you would have been reamed up and down for it. So for the last time, grow up. I'll stop calling you lil't when and if you do.
Nobody else looks as much like a clown as you do, so there is no need to direct it at any one else. I don't care how long you call me lil't, I will just keep on riding you and your bad information like a bull. If you continue to be a glutton for punishment, you'll get just what you ask for. I am not more out of line than you are by calling me lil't night liar (who can actually lie in the day as well). I am grown, worry about yourself.

    The Plot Thickens...

I put the movie "Crank 2 High Voltage" in my netflix Blu-Ray cue and they sent me a message that said:

    "Dear David,

Due to a technical problem with the Blu-ray version of Crank 2: High Voltage, some Blu-ray players have not been able to play this title.

Due to this problem, we have temporarily made the Blu-ray version of Crank 2: High Voltage unavailable for rental. It is now in the saved section of your DVD Queue.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, and we are working with our distributor to get replacement discs as quickly as possible. We expect to have the title available again within a couple of weeks. When the new discs are available, Crank 2: High Voltage will automatically return to the bottom of your active DVD Queue."

So... the moral of this story is.... sometimes it's the disk NOT the player... except when it ain't!!! Good on Netflix fer lettin' me know though.

    Just an FYI.

Some dude on Amazon is claiming that his BDP-83 won't play the new X-Men movie unless BD-Live is turned off.
    It's a disease, really.
