    JVC HR-DVS3 VCR-combi

I have put together a fine hometheater but neglected the VCR-system which is still in regular use in our home.
We have a Philips mono VCR from my wife and a Daewoo cheapo Nicam VCR from my earlier unemployed days.
I like the convinience with VHS and somewhat obsolete they are still used everywhere.
After looking thru the net I found the JVC HR-DVS3 MiniDV+S-VHS ET combo.

It has everything I could wich for: convinience for my MiniDV videocamera tapes and one touch copying to S-VHS. Conversion from NTSC to PAL internaly. Digitizing from tape computers via Firewire. I,m former owner of two videocards in my computers and now I don't have to start on a third one! Jog & Shuttle for easy seeking on tapes.
High quality picture and the sound specialy on MiniDV is good.
I found it in www.technikdirekt.de for 969 Euro witch converts to ca. 8900:- SKR.
The most expensive in Pricerunner was 16504:- SKR.
My local dealer wanted a month to deliver a Pansonic S-VHS recorder witch is to much.

Have JVC good quality in their VCR,s?
What's the difference between DVD and MiniDV i quality?
How changes resolution and quality for MiniDV i Longplay?
How sensitive are S-VHS ET recorders to tapequality?
What gives best picture SCART or S-Video?
Any tips on this JVC HR-DVS3 combo are welcome!

    Thanks in advance.

    ......
Not really able to answer the rest, but JVC is the inventor of VHS.
