I'm using the 1124. I think a few other members are using that model as well. I have no clue what the difference between the two is & I'm not familiar with your sub so...... Home theater shack has some great info & setup guides.

I'm surprised that the 1124 is still readily available, as it was supposedly discontinued 4 years ago. Generally speaking, if you plan to use the EQ just with the subwoofer, you won't notice a difference between the 1124 and the 2496. The basic difference between the two models is the higher resolution DACs used in the 2496, which might make a difference with feedback attenuation or full range equalization (the 1124 has audible noise and coloration in the higher frequencies). But, in the lower frequencies, you won't hear a difference.

Also, some people at the Home Theater Shack (which is where the BFD experts trade info) have reported issues with the MIDI chipsets on certain 1124 units. Again, if you don't plan on using a MIDI connection to automate the BFD controls, this issue won't be consequential.

Right now, it looks like the 1124 is selling for $100, while the 2496 goes for around $150. The link below is a discussion from when the 2496 was first introduced.
