So it all came yesterday. I couldn't get in my front door when I got home. 387lbs of boxes stacked up. Today I unpacked it and pre-assembled for inspection. You have 10 days to report packaging damage. This stuff is so cleverly packed that you would NEVER be able to get it all back in the boxes the way they came out unless you video it. It took me hours to unpack, remove bubble wrap and tape from everywhere and clean up all the styrofoam.

Takes about 5 minutes to screw the spikes in and stack them up. They look pretty cool with the silver and gold. There is a problem with the plating on several and of course, I also go the one with the dinged front edge of the top TV shelf.

Build quality is OK for what they actually are. Not all the spikes from one shelf to another line up until you put weight on them but do find their way. The tubing is a little thinner than I was hoping but should have known better after spending 25 years in manufacturing. The wooden shelves are nice but could have been just a wee bit thicker.

As far as price goes, these things are not worth what they go for if you just visit a site and add to cart. I haggled and they still made a killing somehow. Anyway, they look great and I will be swapping everything out over the next week. Post some pics then.

    So you're a tad underwhelmed, Hyfi ... ?

Sorry to hear that your a little disappointed. The rack I bought from them is the tall 6 shelf, black with frosted glass in the picture to the far right below. It came delivered flawless with heavy duty tubes and thick glass shelves. The top and bottom shelves are rated for 150lbs each and the middle shelves are 60 each. I also bought mine for 40% discount. I believe the RGR series is a step up from the series you bought.

I guess only because I never saw or touched one and from the flawless pictures you would think differently.

I'm mainly disappointed because of the dings in the shelf and the scratched caps. The other thing I just noticed last night is due to the 503, TV rack having a tripod like construction, I can't put one of my amps on it because the power cable is in the center of the amp and would have to stick out as the rear post is right there. Not a biggie since it was going to just be a resting place for one I swap in and out.

So, lets see how fast they send me some new parts, I'm anxious to get it all into place.

Overall, due to the price I paid, I am not as disappointed as I could have been.

As I see it, dinged parts are completely unacceptable.

    Cool

    Looks good.
THING about this kind of rack, you are not tied into the shelves they sent you.
YOU CAN GO WITH another kind of wood completely if you want.

I went with the Cherry because when we redo the room it will be a lighter blue gray slate color and I thought the darker wood would look richer. I almost wish I went with the Oak, but as you said, I can swap them out if I choose.
