    Tres gauche....

...but impressive in a Cirque de Soleil kinda way. I support it more in theory than anything else...

One kind of expects to see those little androids from Blade Runner come dancing out of the back all glitzed up.

    Cool

Sir T will come on and talk about how his system cost 7 mill.
I WONDER WHERE THE "HIGH END" CRT with the 9 ince guns is located?
THIS IS GREAT FOR A GEARHEAD, but you need a system which leaves you room to walk.
This just shows that you can buy a lot of nice gear and still screw up the presentation

My wife's CEO (or, "former" CEO, as she, like me, is retired) has the most elaborate home theatre I've ever personally experienced. I guess he spent at least a quarter of a million dollars on it, and it's worth every cent. But, six million??? That setup is a stunner to look at (as it surely must be to watch and listen to), but I guess after watching one DVD of "Ratatouille" the electric bill has to be in the hundreds of dollars, to run all those Mac amps!

That has got to be the most obnoxious setup I have ever seen. I couldn't stand to sit in a room that "cluttered".

I don't care how much it cost, or what the electric bill costs, or anything else. The room is just UGLY. That much money, and it looks like he bought his cabinets from Wal-Mart.

Get that crap out of the room.

Well, there is no accounting for taste.

I wonder how it would look when it's actually wired, since nothing is connected in the photos...

The setup is just ugly... no two ways about it.... way too many pieces... It's a nice way of showing that you're rich, but otherwise impractical... That many speakers but only a 3 seater couch - I guess he doesn't have any friends....

Who cares what she looks like when the lights are out? I bet it sounds incredible. I want to experience it once before I die.
But as others have points out, shouldn't those speakers be 12 feet apart from each other?

You can approximate it at home. Take your 2 biggest speakers, and put them 12" apart. Insert head in between speakers. Turn it up, and enjoy.

As far as the other point in your post...its ok. I'm sure you will meet that special somone, then you too will experience it once (or more) before you die. No adult should die a virgin.

    Couple of points:

    1. I don't think it said this system cost $6 million, but that if you want him to give your space the same treatment, it will cost about $6 million. But, I bet that figure is inflated to include buildouts, beefed up electrical, ect. ect. It may even be based on an insurance figure and may even include all the software on the walls.

    2. It's the epitomy of equipment fetishism that there is hardly a mention of what is on the walls. Are those Laserdiscs or LPs? The article glosses over one of the biggest features of the room, the collection of media. But clearly the owner cares.

    3. That is a hell of a lot of overkill just to watch Ratattouilee at 85db, because we all know that at the end of the day that is about as loud as we really listen for a a two hour movie.

    4. No ottoman!!! what kind of robot watches a movie without putting their feet up. $20 at Target = Bam! I just made your $6million HT twice as good!

Well unfortunatly there isn't room for an ottoman. He only has enough room for a 3 person couch, and a lame ass model of a fake submarine.

Its just a goofy setup all around.

If thats how he wants to spend his money so be it. I just would have done a lot of things differently.

And the rat movie was funny, but for God's sake at least put a real movie on when getting your setup taken. It's not as bad as a porno on for the shoot, but why not use Blade Runner, or Batman, or anything with live actors.

It really doesn't even have any "dork" appeal. Its just an unholy rats nest of expensive equipment that screams "I have too much money, and not enough sense"

I saw the teaser trailer for the new Star Trek movie before Cloverfield and it got me excited. Could Hollywood really be getting another franchise back on track? James Bond, Batman, and now Star Trek? all back on track.
