    Hey ...

Can you guys help to point out my weakest link, so the next upgrade can be that? I use it for home theater and music - 50/50 split.

Marantz CD17 MKII KI Signiture CD player
MB Quart QL-C404 main speakers (4 ohm, floorstanders)
MB Quart QL-C304CTR centre (6 ohm)
    AR228 rears (8 ohm ; 2-way bookshelf)
    Velodyne CT80 8" active subwoofer
    Sony DVP-NS955v DVD/SACD player (12-bit/108mhz video DAC)
    AudioQuest Cable Talk speaker cable/interlinks

Noo Joisey. Youse got a problem wit dat?

Offhand, without a specific goal stated aside from spending money,

I'd say either your sub might be improved upon ot you could seek out surrounds that are timbre matched to the fronts. The latter would be more for the benefit of music half as opposed to the HT half.

Hello, I'm a misanthrope...don't ask me why, just take a good look around.

"Men would rather believe than know" -Sociobiology: The New Synthesis by Edward O. Wilson

"The great masses of the people...will more easily fall victims to a great lie than to a small one" -Adolph Hitler

If you repeat a lie often enough, some will believe it to be the truth...

I would have to say the Sub. With 6.5" woofers on the mains you really need a bigger better Sub. I think you would see the biggest improvement there.

    Definitely the sub.

Could be the sub. What's the size of your room? If you have a relatively small room, the sub might be adequate. One of the major factors affecting the sound you hear is the acoustical environment. If you're experiencing overly "bright" or overly "dead," you might take a critical look at your room in terms of window treatments, furniture, rugs/carpeting, etc.

The room is relativley small ... about 25 sq metres (270 sq ft).

Maybe I should considering the sub idea ....
