I have a old dvr with 2 of 4 shows on it I would like to watch.
now that my direct tv is shut off I cant access them , can anyone tell me how I can use the hard drive and convert them to dvd to view to watch what is stored on the drive , its only for my personal viewing

You should be able to still view what's on the DVR if the hard drive is built in. I was with Dish and stopped service and thought I couldn't use the DVR, I sold the receiver and the guy who bought it wanted to see it work, he played something from the DVR and I felt so stupid because I had stuff on there I hadn't watched yet and thought I couldn't. You have to push the DVR button that displays what is recorded and it should play as you ordinarily would.
