    Dimmed Display

    I have a Philips CDR-778, and it performs nicely,all but the display is becoming useless. I almost have to turn off the room lights to get a look at the display....HELP!!!!!! Contact me with DIY info @ smitheric851@gmail.com Thanx...

    HERES SOME GREAT HT 101...
    always keep a small flashlight (like a minimag) handy.
    Great for checking on stuff without raising the lights.

    A more expensive rig might be worth sending off.
    SOMETHING LIKE A pHILLIPS would probably not be worth it,
    use a minimag or something like it.
    THESE display panels tend to be an all integrated piece these days.
    DEPENDING ON YOUR UNIT, you might not even be able to find one. THE CHEAPER the device the more likely they use "stores",
    generic parts mass produced. DOUBT if there is a "light" you can
    replace. A CHEAP PLAYER would sound as good(or better), and believe it or not, cheaper to buy.
