I'll be getting one soon: a Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 ...
A small issue is that it has XLR inputs and outputs, not RCA. You can by adaptors from some sources. I'll be making my own hybrid cables using Neutrik and Dayton connectors and Dayton microphone cable.

Only thing is its rackmount i dont have a rack for it lol. Also would like something maybe a little cheaper. Bacicly i need something to up the low end a bit. Like right now im listing to a cd in windows media player and useing the little 10 band eq lowest beeing 31Hz and im getting the sound i want out of it.

Got a question thow. How do thay work? Do thay just have speaker in and speaker out? Or like any imputs go throw the eq then out to the rx?

I kind of like that vintage Pioneer. But for a few bucks more I go for the 15 band Behringer.

I should mention, though, that 31 band, so-called "1/3 octave" equalizer is considered the minimum for precise correction.

Does your receiver have a tape loop? That is, a "Tape Out" and a "Tape In" connectors? If so, that's the correct way to install an equalizer. You send the signal from whatever source you're using, (CD, computer, whatever), to the equalizer via the Tape Out, and you send the signal back from the equalizer to the receiver via the Tape Ins. When you press the "Tape Monitor" switch on the front of the receiver you will be listening to the equalized signal

    Octaves

Human hearing spans 10 "octaves", 20 - 20,000 Hertz. An octave represents a doubling of frequency; musically it is reprented by the notes do-re-me-fa-so-la-tee-do. Hence the first octave of human hearing is 20-40Hz; the highest is10-20kHz.

A "1 octave" equalizer would have a control for each of the 10 octaves, hence 10 controls. If the equalizer has 30 controls, it is a "1/3 octave" equalizer hence is capable of significantly finer control, obviously.

Im starting to think it might be my HK rx. Are that usualy light on the lowend? If i leave bass and treb at 0 it sounds like its playing throw some vary cheap small speakers. Or headphones turned all the way up. Its vary empty sounding.

Any one els have a HK 3480?

I should also note thay im useing some cerwin vegas so its not the speakers..
