    Thumbs down Shooter

    In a word: SUCKED!

I rented this along with Fractured and Disturbia for this week's *At the Movies* and boy I sure hope the next two turn out better. Don't know and don't care who wrote the script, but when the most dramatic lines are:

that made for a really deadful movie watching experience, and that was just before the movie's climax when Gunny gets his paybacks.

The chick had a hot bod though, and I'd like to get my hands on some of the weaponry he got to play with.

I had low expectations, but actually enjoyed it. You rent something like Shooter, you have to expect all the clichés to come out. It was what it was.
Not terribly original, but not that bad.

I thought it was OK. Not the Bob Lee Swagger I envision when reading the Hunter novels, but how often does that happen? Yeah, it falls short of the books...by a country mile...but it's a decent rental.

The movie itself was OK, up to the cheesy wrap up. The last 10 minutes or so actually squandered any goodwill I built up for the film in the prior 90 minutes or so.

    Bourne is much better.

I agree with Groundbeef. The ending made the movie fall flat on it's face. Don't get me wrong... good acting by some top-notch actors, but when it was over I felt let down.

Maybe I overstated my opinion a little bit, but yeah, Bond is much better.
