Is "God Bless America" Bobcat's directorial debut? I love the tagline, "Taking out the trash, one jerk at a time."

I hate to admit it, but my 14 year-old inner cut-up is glad to see that another Sacha Baron Cohen movie is just around the corner.

Dark Shadows - Does it look too much like a Tim Burton film? That's a loaded question, but it's not meant to be a slam. A personal stamp is a good thing until everything begins to look the same. Agree or disagree?

    Kind of agree

I guess the materials he choose to direct also got something with it too, and haviing Johnny Depp in almost most of his movies does not help too much either. Although have not seen all of his [latest] movies, IMO his best is probably Ed Wood and worst is Mars Attack.

well I also, have to "Agree" with you on the Tim Burton Stamp, although I'm so looking forward to this "funny Dark Shadows" (does the Adams Family ring a bell ish

IMHO on the Johnny Deeps choice, Its a very short list amongst the Versatile Actors, who can take on those types of "Multi Genres flicks" and makes it likeable, and the bottom line makes $$$$.

    Definitely agree with that statement

If you watch his film Ed Wood, you can tell how versatile and excellent actor he is. Another excellent actor that is same league as Johnny Depp is Robert Downey Jr. which proved himself in the 1992 film Chaplin.

I'm actually a fan of Burton and Depp individually and as a team and I'm looking forward to their Dark Shadows effort. However, when I see the movie poster or the trailers I think "Tim Burton film" first rather than subject matter. It kind of bugs me on the one hand, but on the other, I generally like Burton's stamp.

Interestingly, I think Smokey's picks for both favorite and least favorite Burton films (Ed Wood and Mars Attacks, respectively) look the least like Tim Burton films, if that makes sense.

Interesting Deano, Mars Attacks is actually one of my guilty pleasures. Maybe because it doesn't feel like a Tim Burton movie. I never put that together, but you might be on to something there. I'm waiting to see what the hardcore Dark Shadow watchers think of it. I'll probably like it cause I won't be sitting there comparing it to the show.
