Thanks for the info Smokey, although I agree not much to get excited about. My 9 year old wants to see Mr Popper.

First March of the Penguins now Turtles, it will be interesting to see how far this genre of movie goes. I'm really surprised they take off at all with all the channels which carry that type of programming.

Doesn't he want to see Cars 2 also (although they could have come up with better sequel title).

I like inner city movies, so will look out for the film A better Life when it comes out on DVD. The movie Bad Teacher with Cameron Diaz looks like a sleazy one. Probably just a renter.

About the Turtle, not sure. They are not the most exciting creatures to watch

    Thanks Smokey.

I agree with Meestah Peabody in questioning the longevity of the genre of man/animal misadventure movies with such an influx of them. Also, Carrey has disappointed me so often recently that I hold out little hope for "Mr. Poppers".

"Bad Teacher" does look like low brow humor...perfect for my questionable and vapid summer palette. I'm counting on being disappointed when they spend too much time cultivating a moral ending or character development. I'd be fine watching an hour and a half of Cameron pegging obtuse and self indulgent brats in the nads with a kickball.
So, I broke into the palace
With a sponge and a rusty spanner
She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

Took Pirates latest, Hangover II and Unknown with us to Cancun this week. Weather has been so great that we've only had time to watch Pirates. Concensus was that it was better than the last one. Very dark movie. It was hard to see everything in the night scenes. Looking to see Bad Teacher and Cars 2. Got to find out more about Green Lantern. Thanks for the previews Smokey.

Isn't Kevin James in a talking animal movie this summer? Zoo Keeper or something? I loved Kevin James in King Of Queens and his stand-up routine, but he has been in some embarissing movies.

Other than Captain America, I'm not too interested in anything that's coming out this summer. Never was much of a Thor fan. Never was interested in the X-Men. Green Lantern is as compelling a character to me as The Phantom or Ghost Rider was.

Transformers 3 - do they sell Tylenol 3 at the concession stand? "uh I'll have a large bag of pop-corn, extra large drink, oh and a box of Sugar Ludes"

and then there's that fvcking rockem-sockem robots movie, Real Steele? puh-leeze! What next? Stretch Armstrong: The Movie. Battleship! Clue... oh yeah, they did that...

anything else can wait for DVD release

Maybe you should wait till it comes out on disc so you could watch it alone

Thanks for the previews, Smokey. I'll probably get the Turtles movie on disc for my son. He's in the marine biology program at school. He just returned from a week long trip to south Florida for his sea turtle class. With all the stops they made at different research centers, I got the impression that sea turtle research is a huge "industry" there. Maybe he can get a job in the Keys and I can visit.

Then that movie would be right up his alley.

The trend these days is to mount a camera on back of sea creatures so veiwer can have the same eye view as the animal does. The problem is to get the mounted camera back once creature hit the open sea
