I agree. I think that some mysteries of the island should remain mysterious.

    So, let's disect a little.

Who haven't we seen since the first season? Boone. Shannon. The teacher who blowed up at the Black Rock. Anyone else? I figure that Walt is going to have to play more prominently in the last season. All that stuff about how he's so special has got to mean something.

They're going to employ a new narrative. What does that mean? Each season has focused on it's own tale. S1=plane crash. S2=hatch. S3=Others. S4=getting off the island. S5=getting back on the island. So what will S6 be?

Lindelof says that no other character has been portrayed by Jacob. So wtf is Christian? Is he alive again? Or is he Jacob’s nemesis who we believe to currently be in Locke’s body?

    AND WHERE IS CLAIRE?????

If you want to read more, you can go to wikipedia and read the Season 6 write-up. But there are some spoilers there so I didn’t want to post it here directly.

plus, if they tried to answer everything, all season 6 would be is Ben, sitting on a chair, Masterpiece theater style, and have one loooooooooong sentence of:
"So..... this is what this meant, this is what that meant, this is what that meant...."

    edit:
Which, to be honest, given how excellent an actor Michael Emerson is, would be pretty freakin' captivating. (ala that link FA put up (ithink) of him on Letterman reading a children's story normal... then as creepy Ben).

I don't know what just made me think of this, but wouldn't he have been great in Silence of the Lambs instead of Anthony Hopkins? Not that Hopkins wasn't fantastic. But there just aren't a lot of actors who could pull that off. Emerson could do it.

Here's that video again. I love that moment when he reads, "the cow's in the corn" as he lapses into character.

ya know that's an interesting thought! i almost think he's TOO creepy to play hannibal lecter. i still remember his guest series on The Practice and holy crap he was chilling in that role. i'd like to see him play a character that is that creepy but also charming. Ben was kind of weasely/wimpy/weak at first, then revealed to be a leader of the Others and mega-badass-creepy, but was never charming.
hopkins made lecter even creepier because he was so charming as he did it, i'd love to see Emerson play a character like that, i think he could pull it off like gangbusters!

You make a very good point. Emerson was never charming as Ben. But Ben is just not a charming character. He wouldn't be Ben if he were charming. The one time he tried...breakfast with Kate as a prisoner...it didn't work. But that was partly because the character of Kate would never fall for that.

I didn't see him in The Practice. But I would really like to see him in more stuff. I'm a huge fan. He reminds me of Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the sense that he's not a good looking man, but when he's on the screen I just can't take my eyes off him. He's got great presence.

yeah i agree, Ben isn't supposed to be charming, but it'd be really great to see him take on a role that does have both characteristics and see his take on the "charming monster" type. i'll track down those Emerson/Practice episodes, they're worth watching.

Also, in the Lost alum creepy category, in the movie Running Scared, Juliet plays a very interesting character. i don't want to give it away if you haven't seen it, but it's worth seeing just for her scene in the movie. Comes way out of left field and is intense.
