    Cool Favorite Female Actresses

As the saying goes..."Behind every sucessful man there is a woman", the same thing can be said about every sucessful movies. And they shine in these movies (in parenthesis).

    Not in any particular order:

Sally Field (Kiss me Goodbye): Two times academy and three times emmy award winner, she is probably the most versatile actress in Hollywood.

Joan Crawford (Johnny Guitar): In this western where women rule, Joan Crawford is at her best.

Claudia McNeil (Raisin In the Sun): One of the best american-african actress with a strong screen personality to match.

Kathy Bates (About Schmidt): She was good in Misery and Late Shift, but not as much fun as in About Schmidt.

Holly Hunter (Raising Arizona): A chance encounter with playwright in an elevator led to Broadway, Holly wood and Academy award for best actress.

Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking): Best known for her role in Thelma and Louise, she turned in an opposite role in Dead Man Walking with Sean Penn.

Meryl Streep (Kramer Vs Kramer): As one of the most talented and respected movie actress in Hollywood, she is in the same league as Pacino and Deniro.

Wiona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands): She probably could have saved Godfather III where she was originally cast, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Katleen Turner (Serial Mom): Serial Mom is perhaps her finest hour, sick, twisted but hilarious in every sense.

Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost): She became the first black female to win Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in nearly 50 years.
