    Wink Borat, (revisited).

This movie is probably not politically correct, but in its incorrectness it seem to carry a massage. Most people will probably find this movie offensive, especially if your race or religion is target of its negative bombardment.

But after several viewing one realize that movie is more about poking fun at ourselves, rather than being offensive. And nobody is left out: Jews, Muslims, Christians, Womens, Blacks and Whites are all fair game and targeted.

Sometimes seems it takes shock therapy to realize how funny some of our perceptions about other cultures or races are, or vice versa. But we sure could have done without seeing the fat old guy naked to get the message

I thought the special effects and soundtrack were pretty good, though there was too much CGI, which made it look fake at times.

Wow Smoke, this is a very profound analysis of a movie I personally found so funny that I could barely hold the contents of my kidneys.

    "Can we stay for desert?"

    "No, you must go!"

"Why? We are hungry for desert!"

"I've called the sheriff, please leave!"

"You called the police? For what? Did the Retard escape?"

I agree. He must also have nerve of steel. Acting in controlled environment is one thing, but doing it unpredictable circumstances takes a special talent

I am sure he had several run in with the police, and producers probably got edited out.

Actually not. He did a very in depth interview with Terry Gross on Fresh Air (NPR) and he talked about the police issue. Because he isn't an American Citizen, he couldn't get arrested, or production would end,and he would be deported. He was in constant contact with his attorney about certain situations. He never placed himself in enough jeoprardy where he could be arrested.

Excecpt once. Listen to the interview, and he describes a scene where he almost got arrested. This scene never made it in the movie. But it should have!

That is interesting. I was for sure he would get arrested for running around naked in the hotel lobby, or chasing down Pamela Anderson. May be a double disc dvd edition will have some of the cut out scenes.

For all the movie was worth, I personally feel that certain parts were "staged" if not at the minimum "discussed" before the actuall occurance.

    1. The Pam Anderson Scene. I think that she has been on the receiving end of a stalker before. I seriously doubt her security team would allow anyone near her, let alone "bag" her, and get away without any incident.

This at a minimum would be assult & battery, and probably a host of other charges. Of all the film moments, this one seemed the most staged.

    2. The hotel lobby is not a public place. IE, it is on private property, so it would be up to the hotel if it wanted to make an issue of his nakedness. If Borat had run around naked on a public street thats a different issue altogether.

    3. The naked scene in the meeting hall. This had to have been pre-arranged. The camera crew wasn't shooting with hand held camcorders. Someone knew they were coming. They might have not known the extent of the action, but there were people in the know.

Remember, they had to get releases signed by anyone filmed in the movie (faces) if they could show it. Highly unlikely they didn't do their leagal homework before doing some of these bits.

I didn't like this movie very much, but it appears I'm in the minority.

I gotta agree. I could only watch 'bout 15 minutes B4 I had to turn it off. Too silly for my liking.
