    Marantz CD-99SE vs Philips LHH-500R

    Hi all,
I saw a second-hand Philips LHH-500 Reference CDP in a store. It's very new and nice also. Now I'm using the Marantz CD-99SE. The price of Philips is a little higher, but I am wondering between them, I don't know how the Philips is? I'd like to change my Marantz!
Do you have any experiences about that Philips CD player? Could you please tell me some reasons that can make me decide to change!
    Thanks for your sharing!
    Best regards

The Philips is one very old player, so technology-wise it will probably be bested by much newer players, like the Cambridge Audio 640c, and probably at a better price, too. It also older than your Marantz. What is it about that player that you don't like or are trying to improve?

FYI: The Cambridge has a very different sound from the typical Marantz sound, hence the reason I mentioned it. But I haven't heard the 99se, per se.

Thank you so much! The 99SE with TDA-1541A-S1 (Single Crown) is not brighter than LHH-500R (TDA-1547) and of course, the DAC 1547 is more detail. The 99SE is older than 500R (1990 vs 1992).
About the Cambridge, it is the very good CDP I have heard. But it is not cheap in Vietnam, it is more expensive than 500R and 99SE.
So now, I still have no my own answer. It's too hard!
