    A Few Questions

Hi guys, I am need of some help. I recently bought an echo io sound card for my laptop primarily for listening to music and movies. It only supports a 2.1 setup.

My first question is what is the best way to connect it ( I am connecting it to altec computer speakers). It came with a 1/8 connection to the sound card on one side and the red and white cables to the other. This does not work for my computer speakers so I am usingthe normal 1/8 cable that was provided by the speakers. Is there a better way to connect it with a better cable or adapters for the red and white back into the computer cable?

There is a slight hissing noise. This card was not supposed to have any but it seems to have more then the onboard audio. Any reccomandations would be greatly appreciated.

Does any one have any preferences on the audio quality for different dvd playing software?

    Thanks for the help.
